Power Systems

Our power systems feature extensive fault tolerance and resilience at every layer, guaranteeing smooth and uninterrupted power for your equipment.

Incoming service is routed underground to our ASCO Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), which also connects to our backup power generation facilities. Power is then routed through a Liebert Interceptor Series Transient Voltage Surge Suppression system (TVSS). A TVSS system diverts transient voltage to ground, protecting sensitive equipment from power fluctuations due to usage or surges.

Earthnet utilizes a pair of redundant 300kVa Powerware 9315 Uninterruptible Power Supplies. Each unit features dual battery cabinets and a full maintenance bypass allowing for service and upgrades without interruption of power to our servers. All UPS batteries were last replaced in 2015.

Pulazzi power distribution units handle final power transformation, suppression, and distribution to racks.

Generator backup services are provided to our facility by a Volvo powered Elliott-Magnatek 350KW diesel generator featuring over 24 hours of autonomous runtime before requiring refueling. Generator power is activated automatically in the event of a grid failure by an ASCO automatic transfer switch.

The intermediate load is transferred by our Powerware UPS System, able to support the system for over an hour, despite the fact that the generator is active and up to speed in less than 20 seconds of a power failure. To guarantee this, however, our generator is tested weekly to insure that it will continue to function in the event of any emergency.
