NEW AND IMPROVED DIALUP SERVICE (09/21/2007)
Recently you may have experienced connectivity issues with your dialup
service. The company that currently provides us with the modem banks and
phone numbers that provide your connectivity to Earthnet has been less
than responsive in resolving these issues. Also, we are concerned that
the choices for dialup numbers were so limited.
We've decided to switch providers in order to give you the quality
service that we want you to be able to expect from us. We have also
upgraded the number of dialup access numbers to more than 25,000 numbers across the USA!
What you need to change - 2 things:
1 - The phone numbers currently in use will soon cease to function.
You will need to update your dialup access phone number.
Please
click here for the new numbers.
You are welcome to use ANY of these numbers. Of course, you should use a local phone number, so as not to pay for a long distance call.
2 - Currently you log in with your user name like:
johntx
or
jsmith1
All that you need to do is add @earthnet.net after
your username on your dialup connection screen, so the usernames above would become:
johntx@earthnet.net
or
jsmith1@earthnet.net
Your password remains the same.

Outgoing Mail Server Update (08/15/2006)
If you can receive mail but CANNOT SEND MAIL, and receive an error message 450 ("connection to host refused" or something similar), you need to update your outgoing mail server from mail.earthnet.net to smtp.earthnet.net, with SMTP authentication.
To find out how to do it, please go to our support section:
http://earthnet.net/support/email_menu.htm
Then under the second section called "Updating your outgoing mail server (SMTP)", simply click on the email program that you are using. From there, just follow the instructions, don't forget to restart your computer, and your problem should be fixed.
Email quotas (06/30/2006)
Many of our email accounts have accumulated large amounts of disk space because the owners are not dumping emails off the Earthnet servers onto their workstations. This means all your emails sit on our servers and take space. This results in performance issues as well as maintenance problems for our system administrators. During the month of July, we will be updating our policy on the amount of disk space available to each customer's email account. This means that every person will have a quota of disk space available for free. All customers using more than the available quota will be charged for overage. In the meanwhile, please take some time (maybe this 4th of July's weekend) to clean up your inbox and get rid of unwanted emails. Your help in this matter will be much appreciated.
New Spam Filter
Since the end of March 2006, Earthnet switched to its own, in-house spam filter, the Earthnet Spam Blocker, powered by Barracuda Networks. The new spam filter offers much more control to you, and learns from your previous choices. Click here to learn how use it and adjust it.
VoIP Offering
Since November 2005, Earthnet started offering VoIP in partnership with Verge1, also known as Buffalo Telecom. Click here to find out more about this revolutionary system.
